When Your Partner Doesn’t Know Jesus

Our aim is to provide insights into Julie’s book. To help and encourage others who maybe in similar situations or simply to encourage others in their faith and personal journey.

About the book:

Julie Allen sensitively explores an issue that many believers are facing: coping with life as a Christian with an unsaved partner, praying that they will also come to faith.

Julie’s book is a true and open account of her journey, the issues she encountered, the obstacles in her path and how God led her and taught her throughout this journey, until victory was won.

Julie was already married to Michael when she found Jesus.  Her life was transformed, but her husband was untouched by the experience.  More than that, much tension, misunderstanding, and miscommunication ensued as they both sought to come to terms with the massive changes in their lives.

Julie walked closely with God and continually prayed about what she could do to help Michael encounter Jesus for himself. Rather than Michael having the immediate conversation Julie was hoping for, however, surprisingly God had a great deal to say about the example of Christian living she was modelling for her husband.

As a result, valuable kingdom principles were learnt that the author shares here.  This book will give valuable insight, inspiration and hope to everyone who longs to see a breakthrough for their partner.

Are You Living A Life Of True Significance?

Following on from my last post on Nehemiah I thought that this hort post full of thought provoking questions would be of value.

An unknown quote; “I may, I suppose, regard myself as a relatively successful man. People occasionally stare at me in the streets. Thats fame; I can fairly easily earn enough money to qualify for admission to the higher slopes of the Internal Revenue Service. Thats success. Furnished with money and a little fame[I] may partake of friendly diversions. Thats pleasure. It might even happenthat something I said or wrote was sufficiently heeded for me to persuade myself that it represented a serious impact on our time. Thats fulfillment

Living as children of the light.

I don’t know about you however, during these uncertain times when we have perhaps been challenged by the way we live, think, act and feel, asking myself am I  living as a child of the light?  Perhaps we have thought more about our priorities in life and want to reconfigure, maybe we have allowed fear and uncertainty to gain a grip.

Dare I say it, that for some we have not sought God or His word and allowed the world’s thoughts, behaviours or attitudes to gain a hold?  I am sure we have all been challenged; I have personally been challenged during this time of lockdown with covid-19.  There have been times when I know I have got a bit angry, frustrated and a bit selfish, nevertheless with God’s grace I am being challenged and changed.  How fabulous to have the Holy Spirit work within us, to bring us into alignment with His word and to walk as children of the light.

A Winning Attitude

In the book of Numbers chapter 13 & 14 we read God ordering Moses to choose 12 leaders from each tribe and send them to spy on the land of Canaan. Moses instructed them to find the nature of the country, its population and military strength, degree of fertility and physical security. He also asked them to bring some of the fruits that grow there. (It was the season when Grapes were beginning to ripe) Twelve spies spied the land and their observations were same. They found that the land is rich and fertile, (Numbers 13:23-27) and that the inhabitants of Canaan are stronger and they live in cities that are very large and fortified, (Numbers 13:28-29).

But this is where the similarities end. Chapter 13 says except for Caleb and Joshua every one else had already thrown up the cards. Why did the spies act so weirdly? They were controlled by their defeated attitudes. When you perceive something in a certain way it is called your personal attitude. There are defeating attitudes and Winning attitudes.

Do you know where you are going?

Confused!!

Most people if asked will convince you they have and may take offence simply by asking, nevertheless I guess most have not and simply walk through life and life events.   Very few people I guess have some sort of plan.

However, what would be our reaction if those we asked said simply “Yes” God directs my path! I am fairly sure many will would look perplexed, , bewildered smile and say oh! Either ask ok great but what are you doing with your life or simply say “that’s fine” and walk away thinking wrong thoughts, how mad, how odd what a strange person.

God’s Coffee

How often do we as individuals strive to get the best? There’s nothing wrong with wanting to have the best, my question is, in doing so, do we strive, get anxious, get stressed and look to the container rather than what’s inside.

The bible tells us in;

1 Peter 5:7 (AMP) Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.’ In short who do we rely on ourselves or God, hey I’m sure you will all say God!

Empowerment ~ 1

A topic that is often mentioned is EMPOWERMENT and no doubt there are many people with differing views. However I would like to start a series of five blogs looking at this subject from a different angle and my hope is that you find this both thought provoking and interesting so ……

Empowerment refers to increasing the spiritual, political, social, or economic strength of individuals and communities. It often involves the empowered developing confidence in their own capacities.

This session I would like you to reflect on the word “Empowerment” what it means.
