Why is everyone so busy?

Do you focus on the golf balls or the sand in your life?

The bible tells us in Colossians 3:2 “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things”.  How many of us take time out to read, pray and listen to God, I ’m talking to myself as well.  We can come up with what we think are legitimate responses, I ’m too busy, I’ve got to do some work, I’ve got to see to the children etc.

We generally don’t organise our time effectively or efficiently.  At one time I used to use the PAL system perhaps its time to go back there again.  PAL stands for Projects, Activities and Leisure time.  Whatever you do the key is to find leisure time each day.

Joyce Meyer recently challenged people to a 30/30 challenge which is a 30 min a day reading the Bible for 30 days!  Now that really challenged me as my initial mind set was not what it should have been.  I began to think about how I spend my time, which in turn led me to the golf ball story, my wife and I shared at every event with the charity we ran.

We are all made to fly

Once there was a king who received a gift of two magnificent falcons from Arabia. They were peregrine falcons, the most beautiful birds he had ever seen. He gave the precious birds to his head falconer to be trained.

Months passed and one day the head falconer informed the king that though one of the falcons was flying majestically, soaring high in the sky, the other bird had not moved from its branch since the day it had arrived. The king summoned healers and sorcerers from all the land to tend to the falcon, but no one could make the bird fly.
