Jesus Heals a Man Let Down through the Roof of a House

Read these verses then read the think stop at the bottom.

Like 5 v 18-26

17 On one of the days while Jesus was teaching, some proud religious law-keepers and teachers of the Law were sitting by Him. They had come from every town in the countries of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem. The power of the Lord was there to heal them. 18 Some men took a man who was not able to move his body to Jesus. He was carried on a bed. They looked for a way to take the man into the house where Jesus was.

Remember who is first

@bwycbic Reading 3 John 1 v 9 struck me as we read of a man named Diotrephes.  The Bible says he lived to have preeminence! This means he loved to be first, to put himself above everything.  In these difficult times despite our personal situation, we need to focus on Jesus. He alone is the author of our faith. He alone is our salvation, remember to put him first in all things. Amen

Don’t get stressed

Don’t get stressed out and worried when God is in control of your life. Heaven is working on your behalf right now. God is bigger than the problem you are facing. Trust Him to make a way. Everything will be ok. God is working out what was meant for your bad to work for your good. Stop trying to figure everything out. Just let God work it all out. It might look like a set back but God is setting you up for something greater.

Pebbles or Sand

A valuable lesson for a happier life ~ A short story to help you sort out the rocks and sand in your life.

A philosophy professor stood before his class and had some items in front of him. When class began, wordlessly he picked up a large empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, rocks about 2″ in diameter.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks.

Good Intentions:

Are good intentions slowing you down from achieving all that God has planned for you?
Remember Hebrews 12:1b NLT ~ “Let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress …”
Reflective story:
Five birds are sitting on a telephone wire. Two decide to fly south. How many are left?
I’d hazard a guess that a fair number of people said three.

Biblical qualities to develop in life

World’s opinion on some of the qualities we should have for a good life.

Christian qualities we ought to live by?

Christians should be God-fearing and humble. They should display the fruit of the Spirit given in Galatians 6: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, and self-control. While no Christians possess these qualities perfectly, we must and will continually grow in them as a result of the Spirit’s work in us.

Your personal quality of life depends on the quality of your thoughts. The kind of thinking you have takes your life in that direction. You always have a choice as to how you want to live your life.

What I take from the passage above is that this is the world’s always focusing on the individual, what I want to do, as if I have freedom of choice. Well whatever your views, what if seriously what if we decided to live God’s way and choose the right path!

Let’s look at:

Power of the tongue, life or death!

Life and death are harnessed in the power of our tongue! The bible tells us even though the tongue is a small thing, it can make grand speeches. A tiny spark, also a small thing, can set a great forest on fire. The rudder of a ship is another small thing that can direct the course of a large vessel. Among all the parts of our body, the tongue is the most powerful and can set your world on fire or breathe life into a weary soul. Your choose.

The Word tells us that our words can be like a scorching fire, separating close friends, stirring up anger, and providing the folly of fools. In contrast, the Word also says that our tongue can speak words that bring life’ We have the ability to give life-giving waters to others, believers of not. Our words have an impact for good or ill, again your choice do you want to give life giving waters or think and speak destructive words.

Our tongue and its power to use words is a unique and influential gift from God. When we read the book of Proverbs, we must notice that verse upon verse about the power of our words keep jumping off the page. Proverbs 12:6 teaches that our words have the power to destroy and the power to build up.

Are we using the words from our tongue to build up people or destroy others? Who’s in charge of your tongue? Who can we blame when hurtful things come tumbling out of our mouths? It is imperative that we make a conscious decision to control the output of our own tongues. The bible also says we are to sharpen each other, not to destroy.
