PASSION for EXCELLENCE

“We cannot hold a torch to light another’s path without brightening our own”.

A Passion for Excellence is a phrase that describes the strong desire of a person to do what is outstanding, extraordinary and remarkable, following a continuous path of trying to live an excellent productive life.

I can hear people say, I’m human and I make mistakes so I cannot always strive for excellence I make mistakes aren’t we all like this. So let me challenge us all by remembering that once we accept Christ as our Lord and saviour, presumably we then accept Luke 9 v 23 Then he said to the crowd, ´If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me´.

So when Jesus says we must deny ourselves and take up our cross daily, He is speaking about “dying to self”, not dying physically on a cross, but dying to our own selfish desires, to do the will of God…. daily. A Christian life is a life of surrender and sometimes sacrifice, but also an adventurous journey.

Imagine Jesus is standing right by you now, WOW goosebumps all over, well  wouldn’t we be filled with passion, excitement and want to do our very best for Him, I personally don’t always get it right however I do try.

People with a passion for Christ want to follow him. They want to learn as much as possible about Him, his teachings, and His commands. Passionate Christians love Christ. If you’re passionate for Christ, you desire to grow in your faith and want to have biblical fellowship with other believers. On the flipside the amazing thing is that God is passionate about having a relationship with each and every one of us.

Worry Not

@bwycbic

So many Christians ‘worry or are anxious ‘why? Do we not have enough food, drink, money or whatever it is. The Bible tells us in Philippines 4v5 not to worry or be anxious but to pray and God will easy and remove your worries or anxieties.

Worry is an anxious way of thinking and speaking about yourself. This causes a behaviour change such as stress or agitation. Our God wants us to be in faith and be at peace. If you haven’t gathered worry is bad for you and you want to break the habit read on.

The Bible is even more clearer in Matthew 6 v 25-34. These verses are from Jesus himself, He says don’t worry. Now I hear you say that’s easy for Him to say that but I can’t stop worrying its the situation I’m in.

As you are a person of faith and believe in our God read Matthew 6 v 25-34. Really focus in on verse 30 either in KJV, NLT, AMPC or ESV at the end of this verse it says, ‘You of little FAITH’!

Jesus is challenging you to increase your faith, cast aside worry or and anxiety and step into deeper faith and be at peace.

When I read these verses and verse 30 hit me it told me I had little faith. So what did I do about it? It wasn’t easy but I reframed worry and changed it to concerned. Everything Iused the word worry I changed it to concerned and asked for forgiveness.

Now that sounds easy but it took me almost a year to change my thinking, self-talk and spoken word. Now it’s established I automatically and very very rarely I do say worry, however if I do it is followed by concerned very quickly and I ask God for forgiveness.

It’s a challenge however if you have read this far why not challenge yourself and STOP saying WORRY. Amen

Have fun reflecting on this…

Saw this and had a good laugh and questioned myself anyway… Life in the Spirit is fun, well at least the HS thinks so. What would our lives be like if we totally totally trusted Him. What a smile we would have and what light we would display.

Rem Phillipians 2:15, let’s look at our selves clean away anything that dins our light. Polish with His word and shine.

Jesus Heals a Man Let Down through the Roof of a House

Read these verses then read the think stop at the bottom.

Like 5 v 18-26

17 On one of the days while Jesus was teaching, some proud religious law-keepers and teachers of the Law were sitting by Him. They had come from every town in the countries of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem. The power of the Lord was there to heal them. 18 Some men took a man who was not able to move his body to Jesus. He was carried on a bed. They looked for a way to take the man into the house where Jesus was.

Renew your mind

You attract to yourself what you believe about yourself. If you’re going to become everything God wants you to be, you have to take captive the thoughts that are playing in your mind and ruling your heart.

2 Corinthians 10 v 5 says, “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” God has given you His Word and the power to think His thoughts and to create your life around His thoughts.

You can’t control what anyone else does, says, or thinks, and you can’t control everything that happens to you, but you can control what you think. You can control your attitude by allowing God to use the power of His Word to renew your mind, to transform your thinking, and to guard your heart. Too often, you allow the busyness of life and all your responsibilities to overwhelm and overtake you. I encourage you not to be busy, but to be productive.

If you’re going to see your dreams and desires come to pass, you can’t just let everything occupy your time and get you off course. Don’t wear yourself out doing things that others can do. Set your priorities right. Clear the clutter out and rearrange your life priorities. God has good things for you. Every day He will load you up with His benefits. God has an appointed time for you. It’s set in eternity and will come forth, in the name of Jesus.

Have a fabulous faith filled day in CHRIST.

Pebbles or Sand

A valuable lesson for a happier life ~ A short story to help you sort out the rocks and sand in your life.

A philosophy professor stood before his class and had some items in front of him. When class began, wordlessly he picked up a large empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, rocks about 2″ in diameter.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks.

Good Intentions:

Are good intentions slowing you down from achieving all that God has planned for you?
Remember Hebrews 12:1b NLT ~ “Let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress …”
Reflective story:
Five birds are sitting on a telephone wire. Two decide to fly south. How many are left?
I’d hazard a guess that a fair number of people said three.
