Food for thought.

In a mother’s womb were two babies. One asked the other: “Do you believe in life after delivery?”The other replied, “Why, of course. There has to be something after delivery. Maybe we are here to prepare ourselves for what we will be later.”

“Nonsense” said the first. “There is no life after delivery. What kind of life would that be?”

The second said, “I don’t know, but there will be more light than here. Maybe we will walk with our legs and eat from our mouths. Maybe we will have other senses that we can’t understand now.”

God’s coffee or do we focus on the cup?

How often do we as individuals or leaders strive to get the best? There’s nothing wrong with wanting to have the best or to better yourself.

My question is in how we go about getting the best, do we strive, get anxious, do we walk over others or get stressed and does what it says on the outside of the tin, does it really impact what’s on the inside?

The bible tells us in;

1 Peter 5:7 (AMP) Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.’ In short who do we rely on ourselves or God, hey I’m sure you will all say God!

Why is everyone so busy?

Do you focus on the golf balls or the sand in your life?

The bible tells us in Colossians 3:2 “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things”.  How many of us take time out to read, pray and listen to God, I ’m talking to myself as well.  We can come up with what we think are legitimate responses, I ’m too busy, I’ve got to do some work, I’ve got to see to the children etc.

We generally don’t organise our time effectively or efficiently.  At one time I used to use the PAL system perhaps its time to go back there again.  PAL stands for Projects, Activities and Leisure time.  Whatever you do the key is to find leisure time each day.

Joyce Meyer recently challenged people to a 30/30 challenge which is a 30 min a day reading the Bible for 30 days!  Now that really challenged me as my initial mind set was not what it should have been.  I began to think about how I spend my time, which in turn led me to the golf ball story, my wife and I shared at every event with the charity we ran.

Are You A Cracked Pot?

download (1)

A parable we can all learn from . . . A water bearer had two large pots, one hung on each end of a pole which, she carried across her neck. One of the pots had a crack in it, but the other pot was perfect, and always delivered a full portion of water at the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, while the cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water to her house. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, perfect to the end for which it was made.

But the poor cracked pot was very ashamed of its imperfection, and was miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do — or so it thought.

We are all made to fly

Once there was a king who received a gift of two magnificent falcons from Arabia. They were peregrine falcons, the most beautiful birds he had ever seen. He gave the precious birds to his head falconer to be trained.

Months passed and one day the head falconer informed the king that though one of the falcons was flying majestically, soaring high in the sky, the other bird had not moved from its branch since the day it had arrived. The king summoned healers and sorcerers from all the land to tend to the falcon, but no one could make the bird fly.
